Iraqi Securities Commission participates in the Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance Forum

Iraqi Securities Commission participated in the Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance Forum through a speech delivered by Ms. Lama Ali, Director of the Inspection and Monitoring Department, on behalf of the Chairman of the Commission, Mr. Faisal Al-Haimus.

In her opening remarks, Ms. Lama Ali conveyed the greetings of the Chairman of the Commission and his wishes for the success of the forum’s proceedings, emphasizing the importance of this event in supporting the stability of financial markets and enhancing confidence in them.

She noted that sound governance, risk management, and compliance are no longer merely regulatory requirements, but have become fundamental pillars for ensuring the sustainability of institutions and improving their efficiency in line with best international practices and standards.

She also explained that the Commission’s issuance of the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards guide for companies comes as part of its commitment to entrenching sustainability principles and promoting transparency and good governance in the financial market.

Ms. Lama Ali praised the efforts of those organizing the forum, expressing the Commission’s aspiration that its outcomes will contribute to spreading the culture of governance, risk management, and compliance, in a way that positively reflects on institutional performance and supports national economic growth.
